Finding Resources at OSU

From the bike shop to the food pantry, OSU has dozens of resources available. The student experience website Links to an external site. has the most comprehensive list of resources available to students. Selecting the “Campus” on the right menu will allow you to find resources available to you, and the filter settings can narrow the list of resources to specific service categories. You can then read a brief description of the service and use the links to find more information and how to access the service.

While there are many resources available, it’s important to know who to contact if you are struggling.

Academic Support

There are many resources available to help you achieve your goals in each course. Listed below are several that are applicable to all students in all courses:

What if I Fall Behind in Class?

Many students ask what they should do if they fall behind in class. There may be additional resources depending on your unique situations, but start with these five steps:

  • Connect with your instructor first. Find out what steps you can take to get caught up and where to focus your time and energy. If you’re able and willing to share what caused you to fall behind, sometimes that can be useful for instructors to know about, but you don’t need to explain.
  • Make an appointment to meet with an academic coach at the Academic Success Center. A coach can help you make a plan to get caught up on the work while staying current with the new materials and assignments.
  • Identify some resources and support (see “Academic Support” above) and begin to use those.
  • If you are concerned about your ability to pass the class, let your advisor know via email or in a meeting so they can connect you to resources, talk through S/U/W options or help you think ahead to stay on track.
  • If you work with DAS, TRiO, EOP, Ecampus or other programs on campus, check with your advisers there for additional support and guidance.

What if I Experience Conflict or Bias in Class?

If you experience conflict related to instruction in your class, and you feel comfortable doing so, you may seek solutions by emailing or speaking with your instructor directly. This way, you and your instructor can work together to resolve issues including technology and evaluation.

The Office of Advocacy is available to help you navigate the process for Student Appeals and Grievances Links to an external site.  while the Ombuds Office Links to an external site. is available to help mediate conflicts informally.

If you have experienced or witnessed bias, you have a number of options that you may choose from. You may feel comfortable connecting with your instructor. Through those offices, or on your own, you can explore the option of reporting the incident through the Bias Incident Report Links to an external site..
