(WHAT to do, and WHY are we doing this?)
In this assignment, you will add an intellectual property statement to the free and/or open source (FOSS) project that you created for Week 2: Assignment: GitHub Hello World. This is intended to give you a hands-on experience with a variety of [FOSS] licensing practices, and will assess your ability to choose, compare, evaluate, and apply licenses to a FOSS project.
Compare these three short-listed licenses in terms of how restrictive (protective) vs. permissive they are.
Evaluate the similarities and differences between them.
Select one of them that fits your project needs and vision best.
Add the license to your project, and make it publicly available. (For example, if your project is hosted on GitHub.com, make sure you add, commit and push)
Take a screen-shot of the project files, that shows the license file/statement, and include the screen-shot in your report.
In your written report,
List the three licenses,
Argue why you chose that license, contrasting the similarities and differences between the three short-listed licenses, and
why the chosen license serves your project's needs and vision better than the other two. For example,
Write the advantages and disadvantages(problems) that the other licenses would cause for the project in the long haul.
What does it mean for your project to be licensed now? What difference does it make? What could other people do with your project, before you added the license, and what can people do after you licensed it?
Submit your written report as a PDF file.
